Works on Paper Exhibition

July 4, 2009

I am very pleased to have some work featured in the Works On Paper exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery.  The exhibition, lasting throughout the summer, aims to explore different forms of work using paper across the board and features work by a range of historically important art figures including Paula Rego, Chris Olifi and even Picasso, alongside a selection of contemporary artists (I guess I fall into that category).  Ambitious and educational, it opens on July 11th.

I have made a 12 page comic that is to be distributed for free to any visitors to the exhibition.  Its a small sampler of the kind of drawings and themes dealt with in my diary project and features a few drawings from this year that I haven’t shown anybody yet.  Its called Leaving Something Out.

I had to censor some of the profanity as it is an educational / family show – I didn’t realise there was so much, I actually missed a couple of fucks and a shit first time round.  They weren’t amused when I sent it assuming it was ready for print, but all sorted now…

I’ve also done a big ol’ two colour screen print for it.  Theres an edition of five so contact me asap if you’re after one.
